When Arthur and Sandy Tauber founded Avanti in 1969, they created a new product category-embellished towels. Over the next 55+ years, they continued to innovate and refine the category, remaining the dominant player in the industry. Dedicated to offering the very finest in embellished towels for the first 35 years of its existence, Avanti expanded into bath accessories, shower curtains and bath rugs in 2004. In 2009, we added table linens and kitchen textiles and in 2019 we entered the bedding business. With the expansion into these new products, our focus on great design, on-time delivery and outstanding customer service has remained our top priority.
Avanti has grown steadily since opening the first showroom and factory on 36th Street in New York. The company moved in 1971 to 27th Street, and again in 1974, to Eighth Avenue and 16th Street, each move in anticipation of future growth. In 1986, Avanti moved to its current location in Moonachie, NJ, first occupying 65,000 square feet. We expanded 3 more times within the current location, now occupying the entire 175,000 square foot facility where our 100+ employees pick, pack and ship all of our products. We continue to sew and embroider our embellished towels in our Moonachie, NJ facility. In addition to warehousing and production, design, marketing, sales and administrative functions are also housed in our New Jersey headquarters.
